I. BIBLE STUDY ON THE BOOK OF REVELATION.
This Bible Study on the book of Revelation started last year due to the fact that a lot of questions were being asked about the end times since the pandemic began. This was being done every Wednesday afternoon at the residence of Ptr. Mark Cadilo. When December came, this schedule was interrupted since there was a lot of things to transfer from the old office to the new location. This year however this Bible Study was resumed on January 13, 2021 (every Wednesday at 2:00 in the afternoon) at the new office. This is open to all and if you are interested to join, you are most welcome.
This photo was taken last January 27, 2021 at DQI/LLC during this closing prayer of the book of Revelation Bible study led by Sis. Kristina Cadilo.
II. ANNUAL PLANNING AND EVALUATION FOR LEADERS AND VOLUNTEERS LAST JANUARY 17, 2021.
We praise and thank God for more than fifty youth leaders and young professionals who joined the annual planning and evaluation last January 17, 2021. It was not only an informative meeting as the vision, mission and core values of Dream Quest International and LifeLite Community were reviewed but it was also a good time to revisit God’s faithfulness since Rev. Dennis Koh and his wife started the pioneering work here in Tacloban City and reminisce God’s favor over the past five years when new leadership was put in place.
All the staff were present and were given time to share the essence of discipleship and the process by which we can effectively reach out to others. Our Student Sponsorship Program was highlighted as this is a truly unique strategy given by God to DQI/LLC in connecting with various schools so we can fulfill His great commission. As a result of this program, we now have sixteen (16) active LifeGroups and it is our target goal to double this number by 2022 by the grace of God. Lastly, we were all reminded to be faithful in attending our lifegroups and a challenge was given to the youth leaders to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit so they too can start their own lifegroups.
III. PRAYER AND FASTING ON JANUARY 25-29, 2021.
Prayer and fasting have always been good way to start the year. It helps us to focus our attention to the things that really matter in life and that is to seek God, to spend time with Him, to immerse ourselves in His presence and to simply listen to His Word.
LifeLite Community had its yearly prayer and fasting last January 25-29, 2021 and the culmination of this event in the afternoon of January 29 was really meaningful. It was attended by eighteen young people who shared the highlight of their experiences throughout the week and how the Lord gave them the strength whenever they were
tempted not to continue with the fasting. It was indeed a beautiful night of singing songs for the Lord, giving praises for daily victories and offering our prayers as a church.
IV. THANKSGIVING VIDEO RELEASED ON JANUARY 28, 2021.
We would like to thank once again all our local and foreign donors who gave and prayed so that we can finally move
to our new home. We are pleased to present to all of you our “Thanksgiving Video” as our token of appreciation for your generosity and support. This video was released last January 28, 2021.
V. PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY (PDL) AND DREAM QUEST PARTNERSHIP.
Hebrews 13:3 says continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
We praise God for giving us another opportunity to stay connected with the Persons Deprived of Liberty at Tacloban City Jail – Female Dorm. Last January 28, 2021, Bro. Joel went to the Bureau to hand-over more than 50 pieces of reusable face mask and some used clothing for them to use in making doormats and potholders.
With the little act of love, we are able to help them as we purchase and resell their products. We are not only helping them but we are also able to raise some fund for our Student Sponsorship Program as part of the income goes to this program.
For those who are interested to donate used clothing and buy rugs from PDL, contact us through this number: 09173056146.
VI. WITNESSING BLITZ ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
The last day of January was very meaningful as twenty young people decided to share the Gospel on a Sunday afternoon. By groups, the went to four location from City Hall, RTR, Magsaysay, to Rizal Park, in order to share the Good news. Forty three (43) people accepted Christ and they were invited to join our church. Their contact numbers were asked so they can be followed-up. They were also thankful to received the customized face masks from CRU as a reminder of the day that they came to know God more.
One of our young people said that personally I felt excited and nervous at the same time. Along the way, as a group we faced rejection yet we still continued to look for someone who would really listen to us. In the middle of the sharing, it rained, so we have to stop and find shelter. Then we continued sharing again and praise God they accepted Christ into their lives. We don’t know the intention of their hearts wether they truly accepted Christ or not, but it is God’s work to complete what we have planted in them. But when we asked them if they understood or if there was something they did not understand they responded well. They even asked us for our church building location so praise God indeed for this wonderful experience (John A. Tamayo, 21 years old).
It is our prayer that we would be able to do this as a church every month as we are not only obeying Christ’s last command but as we share our faith to others, that more that we grow bolder and more in love with God.
VII. FUND RAISING ACTIVITY FOR OUR STUDENT SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM THROUGH HUMAN NATURE PRODUCTS.
We are thankful to God for another opportunity He has given us to raise funds for our Student Sponsorship Program. One of our local sponsors who is the distributor of Human Nature Products blessed us with the opportunity to sell their products and gave us a 10% rebates from the total sales. This in turn helps us raise a little amount to support our program in supporting our students in their education.
