Dream Quest International

Updates for the month of September – December 2020

I.  DREAM QUEST PARTNERSHIP WITH TACLOBAN CITY JAIL (FEMALE DORM).

Praise God for the wonderful opportunity to partner with Tacloban City Jail (Female Dorm). DQI is helping sell their products made from recycled plastic wrappers and surplus clothes such as wallets, coin purse, doormats and pot holders. These said products will be sold to our friends and partners who wish to help our PDL earn extra amount to help support their families. According to the TCJ management, “It is hard to sell these products now since we are limiting the number of visitors to our facility due to this pandemic.” Our partnership with them enables them to sustain their needs and support their families outside in their own little ways. These photos were taken last September 17, 2020 when we purchased their products for our #ProjectCare. A partnership between Tacloban City Jail (Female Dorm) and Dream Quest International.

2.  CONDUCTING WEBINAR.

Grateful to God for the opportunity to conduct webinar last September 16, 2020. The event was entitled Improving Mental Health and Rewiring for Abundance. Our speaker was Ms. Jill Ang from Manila a certified Life Coach. The said event was participated by at least 45 youth and young professionals in the city. Through the webinar we were able to present DQI’s work among the youth and encourage them to practice clarity, clearing and continuous growth. We are hopeful that we would be able to do more activities like this in the coming days.

III.  TRANSFER OF DQI LOCATION TO QUEZON BOULEVARD.

DQI has finally moved to its new place. We thank and praise God for pouring out His resources so we can transfer to a bigger, brighter and better place. DQI Highlights June to August 2020

June

We praise God for the opportunity to bless our friends inside Tacloban City Jail last June 30, 2020, 773 (Male:716 and Female: 60). Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) received the much needed bath soap and toothpaste specially in this time of pandemic where the management is restricting visits from their family and friends outside to avoid the spread of COVID-19. The said items where individually repacked so we can insert printed verses from the Bible to encourged and minister to these PDLs. It is just amazing how God’s provision never runs dry as we willingly obey to where He leads us. We thank God for using individuals who donated to DQI with the intent of helping us provide the said hygiene kits. Truly, the Lord is faithful.

July

Last July 22, 2020, DQI in partnership with Mr. Shane Lawrence Ty of Pixel Creative Productions hosted a webinar for young entrepreneurs, fresh graduates and even college students featuring Mr. Ron Hose, the founder of Coins.ph.He is one of the leading businessmen in the fintech industry in Southeast Asia and the Philippines. Through this webinar, participants learned the work of DQI among the youth and communities in Tacloban City and most importantly was inspired and encouraged to work with so much dedication, passion and an innovative mindset as they heard the resource speaker shared his life story and how he achieved so much success in his endeavors. This event gave us the opportunity too to share a simple yet profound truth that gifts, talents and skills given by God to us are meant to bless and help improve the lives of people around us specially the needy ones all for His glory!

We have a weekly Bible Study meeting with these teachers from CRMNHS. We are currently going through the Book of  John and we praise God for the wisdom and fun learning atmosphere as we come together to study His word.

August

We thank and praise God for the opportunity to speak through a webinar among Grade 8 – Grade 12 students at Leyte Progressive High School (LPHS) last August 5, 2020 dubbed as “Navigating the New Normal: A Personal Plan for Managing Stress for Students.” This event was in partnership with Mr. Shane Lawrence Ty of Pixel Creative Productions who collaborated DQI to the said school.

Through this event, students acquired practical steps on how to manage their stress but most importantly learned to cultivate a personal and a deeper relationship with God as the first step in consistently and successfully dealing with stress.

“Cultivating spirituality is something we want to imbibe in our students to help them navigate this stressful world and hopefully we can do this slowly as school leaders. We want to help our students realize the existence of a loving God. says Mrs. Gederah, one of the teachers of LPHS.

CRMNHS and MNHS received cash donations from DQI this August 13th 2020 for the Brigada Eskwela School Year 2020-2021. This is our simple way of helping teachers prepare their modules for students in preparation for the opening of classes this 24th of August. Praise God for this partnership!
