In a blessed and sunny afternoon of February 11, 2017, love factor and afloat decorative hearts were seen upon the whole place of DQI as God’s people gathered to celebrate Valentines with the ultimate source of love, JESUS CHRIST. To set the atmosphere, a love musical segment was led by Sis. Dinah and Sis. Shaweh serenading the young people.

In just a while the romantic atmosphere turned noisy as the youth participated in the pick-up line game facilitated by Sis. Jenny. What a fun way to hear each other’s view on love! Not only this, we also had a great time writing down the characteristics that we want to see in our future life time partners as we shared to our group mates commonalities of certain attributes . Then during the praise and worship, God’s love truly occupied the whole place as the youth delightfully sang songs of love and adoration to our Lord Jesus Christ. Our guest speaker, Ms. Jullie Pearl Guanzon, a college professor in Saint Paul’s School of Prof.  Studies, shared her thoughts and experiences regarding   the theme ”Mahal Kita Ngunit Mahal Mo Siya.” Young people were hooked in listening to her about the blessings of singleness. I remember her saying that one must view singleness not something to abhor or a problem to be solved but as a gift from God, a grace, and a season that will pass us by. It was undeniably a good reminder for us teens to enjoy this season of being single so we can maximize our time and talents for the Lord. After a realistic and awesome talk from Ms. Jullie, an intermission number was given by one of the talented youth in DQI, Ricalyn Lumbre who gracefully danced for God. Then Kuya Mark and Ate Kristina with Kuya Bob and Ate bernz answered different questions of the students with regard to love, patience, stages of love, sex, and gave us helpful advices to help everyone be on the right track. After eye-opening panel discussion, everyone was given a piece of paper to write our commitment to God. A commitment that we will put God first and wait for His perfect best!

Certainly, Valentine’s Day is not about the flowers, fancy dates, heightened emotions and sweet chocolates that we receive from our suitors and admirers. Beyond all of this, it is about committing ourselves to the ultimate giver of love, Jesus Christ knowing that if He has given us His one and only Son, then surely He will not withhold any good things from us. In His perfect time, He will definitely give us the best partner perfectly suited for us only if we are willing enough to wait.

“…..and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” Matthew 16:18

This passage came so real to me as I saw the laborers worked on the setting up of our beautiful signage of DQI as it was hanged just outside the gate of our office.

The next day as my husband Joel, my son Sam and I was on our way to DQI office, from afar we could already see “Dream Quest International” signage and just below that name was also written “LifeLite Community” hanging from a post. Just by looking at those words that has become so part of me which I dearly love, stirred up something in me – a passion to live out the mission of this organization. The mission to honor God through my life and be of service to others and to help raise up Christ-centered disciple makers. I strongly believe that DQI and LLC are placed in this city in a time like this for a special purpose, called to make a difference! To be a vessel where God could change lives and eventually help transform the city. From day to day, DQI and LLC have encountered several challenges in every area of the ministry but time and time again, God keeps on proving that it is He who ordains all things and at the same He is the God who sustains.

As we come to the office every single day, the signage that is hanging up in the air, though maybe tossed to and fro by the wind, scorched by the heat of the sun and at times soaked wet by the rain is a personal reminder to me that we are here for a purpose, and we will let our light shine before men that they may see the good works and glorify the Father who is in heaven whatever season we are in and whatever challenges life may bring.

Just as this signage also serves to let people know that we exist in this particular area of the city, this also reminds me of the verse in the Bible found in Psalm 16:5-6 that say, “Lord, You alone are my portion and my cup; You make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”

We thank and praise God for His faithfulness and goodness to Dream Quest International and Lifelite Community. He has recently provided us with a Sound Craft – 24 FX mixer, 20 Mono Block Chairs and a new microphone. Thank you so much to all our prayer partners and may the Lord richly bless all of you!  All glory and praises to Jesus Chris alone!
